I rugaaw inspired and sad in the same time! This is easy to observe when multiple dogs are interacting with each other. Some dogs act like puppies, jumping around and act silly, throwing sticks around, etc.

If you do rescue work, you are doing a disservice to the dogs you foster and your own personal dogs if you do not fully understand Turid’s points. However, the book does not provide the reader sigbals more in-depth knowledge on the calming signals on the grounds of scientific terms; rather it is more of a pamphlet introducing the basic concepts of the calming signals.

This is partly a hunting behavior and is triggered by the sight of a running human or dog. Particularly useful for those of us with nervous or fearful dogs!
It’s easy to implement and it works really well. One of our all time best selling books is now in its second edition with three additional chapters, color photos and descriptive captions.
We expect dogs to adapt to our way of living and communicating, and they do astoundingly well — but many “bad” dog behaviours come from cross-species misunderstandings. I’m weirdly excited to see what message turning my head or body conveys the next time the doorbell rings.
